My special education students are very diverse and unique. Our school is a Title I school and is located in a very small town. Everyone knows everyone, and my students love school, and socializing with their peers and adults. The students I have learn best with FUN hands-on activities. They are all in High school, and are learning about money, jobs, cooking, health, along with their Common Core standards (math, reading, science, writing). We do a lot of cooking in our foods lab, and we also share with faculty around the school. The students absolutely love making breakfast for lunch which include pancakes. My students enjoy learning real life skills, because they want to be as independent as possible, and are preparing to be self advocates in the real world.
