With so many students working on different instructional levels, having a center (four) iPads would allow for learning activities on students' individual ability level. It also provides the opportunity to include more project-based learning experiences. There is rarely enough technology to go around, so this would guarantee that my students would have access to the iPads on a daily basis. Many educational apps can be used with the iPad to serve students in the areas that they need the most help... so this is cross-curricular! The use of technology is a necessary skill for our students. This is the way of the world and required to be marketable in any career or job. My students will benefit from the ability to use technology and gain skills that will continue with them throughout their school careers and beyond. Many of these kids come from families that cannot afford such devices, so outside of school it could be years before they would have access to such technology. It would be an amazing tool for my students to have readily available in their classroom.
