I am a certified school nurse who works at a large, urban, public school where 94% of our students qualify for free or reduced price lunch. Many parents of our students are working during the school day and find it difficult to pick up their sick children from school. Consequently, many of my sick students remain with me in the school nurse's office for quite a while, waiting to be picked up.
