Four digital scales will allow students to accurately record the mass of different scientific materials. These scales will allow my students to measure more precisely since these will measure to the nearest tenth of a gram. Attending to precision is an important cross-curricular concept that hits both math and science standards in our district's curriculum. This is a skill that must be taught at an early age and revisited often. Having the digital scales will allow my students to compare different masses, estimate masses, and then check to see if their estimates were close to the actual masses of the objects they are weighing.
