I teach at an alternative high school in North Philadelphia. My students have not succeeded at traditional high schools in Philadelphia, but they're enrolled in my school because they want another chance. My students live in poverty and are growing up in a community surrounded by violence; but despite all that, they are smart, funny, amazing kids who still have hopes and dreams for something better than they have now.

About my class
