My class begins each morning exploring a variety of engineering/science buckets. I observe and pose questions to the groups to help them think deeper about what they are discovering. Students are encouraged to work with a partner to solve problems without the teacher's input to develop cooperative team work. These requested materials will help expand the student's' experiences, heighten their curiosity, and create new problem solving situations. My students love the marble maze that we have but the addition of the roller coaster, wonder maze, and engineer-a-coaster will provide ways to understand force and motion on a much higher level, not to mention, the wealth of problem solving opportunities. The energy stick will be a great introduction to electrical circuits before they begin exploring the snap circuit system workstation.
