Four and five year olds are learning skills in prekindergarten that form the basis for their entire lives. Emotionally intelligent children will learn to act with empathy, kindness and respect, which will only grown deeper with age. Developmentally appropriate books that teach children about feelings and how to work through tough emotions are an invaluable tool for any classroom, especially in PreK. Developing emotional intelligence at a young age fosters growth into mindful, self-aware adults. These books will enable teachers to give direct instruction in social emotional learning and will be included in the Lending Library that circulates among families for reading together at home.
