These books will enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create with books catered to their levels and interest. I taught 5th grade for the last 6 years and have a wide collection of books catered to my 5th-grade students. After moving to 3rd grade, my classroom library doesn't get used as much as in the past because the books are above their independent reading levels. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and students are grateful for opportunities to read books catered to their level and interest. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time as well as learn about the diversity in our world.
