Our green architecture unit will focus on green building attributes and benefits providing scholars with the strategies to take steps toward improving environmental inefficiencies within their own lives. Through lessons, audits, and activities, students will explore topics of water and energy efficiency, and environmental quality, as it relates to building construction, operation, and maintenance. Scholars will explore renewable energy resources and create a plan on how they could implement them into their future home. Their end product will address the 13 elements of sustainable design as they design and "build" their tiny home. Scholars will showcase their learning with community members and corporate sponsors highlighting their brilliance and visions for a cleaner tomorrow.
