This project seeks to provide two LEGO EV3 Mindstorm programmable units to provide students with a hands-on experience with programming and robotics. Multiple units allow more than one group of collaborating students to be actively engaged simultaneously. Expanding the STEM opportunities in our rural county will level the playing field for our students to get the same high-quality and rigorous programs as children in more affluent school districts. This project supports inquiry-based and active learning while developing problem solving skills. The EV3 Mindstorm platform allows students to creatively collaborate with their peers to design, construct, and program a robotic device. This type of high-interest activity helps students develop college and career ready skills in a STEM curriculum.
