Our students come from diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds from multiple districts through a lottery system of admissions. Our teachers work tirelessly to develop and refine progressive, thoughtful, project-based inquiry units of study to excite and intrigue our learners. Our students learn about the city they live in by studying waterways and bridges in second grade. They study communities around the world in third grade, learning about research methods to understand cultures unlike and similar to their own, reading Children Just Like Me while exploring places long ago and far away, focusing in on China and several countries in Africa. Our fifth graders interrogate the question, "What are you willing to stand up for?" learning about the Holocaust and Mayan culture, asking and answering hard questions that will shape them as future citizens of the world.
