Help EPAPA -- a charter school -- raise needed funds for a field trip to University of California, Santa Cruz! Our 8th and 12th graders will be attending a college tour and learn about admissions and financial aid. The group will meet with the admissions office to learn more about how to prepare our college applications so that students have a good chance at getting into the colleges for which they apply. We also need funding for food. We find it is critical for students to learn more about the colleges in the Bay Area and beyond, as early as possible. The earlier they learn about the colleges, the earlier they will be motivated to organize and prepare themselves to go to college. We hope to be able to inspire all those who attend to aspire to college and know the steps to get to our goal of College For Certain! Students in our school don't always know about good colleges. It is not because they are not capable, but sometimes they are not informed about all the options. Because our school has had several teachers and principals turn-over, students haven't always gotten the consistent support necessary. But one thing has been consistent, and that is the push that all of our students can go to college. Visiting colleges is one step to making our scholars more prepared for success in college.
