My student body is an eclectic mix of cultures and families. Many students speak both Spanish and English while others are transitioning into bilingual capabilities. Each of their stories is unique and helps to establish their sense of identity. Any means they have to share their stories with each other and neighboring communities promotes a more peaceful and understanding environment for them. Unfortunately, access to common scholastic materials is often limited to the youth in my community. Due to this circumstance, funding for expressive activities such as art and music is minimal.
