The students in my class are 12+ graders transitioning to adulthood. They struggle with a variety of learning disabilities and mental illness. My students are happy and enthusiastic about school and technology. Although, my special education students are far behind their typically developing peers in academics, they are eager to learn and happy to experience the many new things that adulthood may have to offer. Many of my students come from homes with no technology available and live in poverty stricken neighborhoods and group homes. Despite their struggles they are happy and eager to come to school and learn.
