My students are all juniors and seniors in a math and science magnet high school. They come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and many are foreign born. Our school is not your typical high school. We are on the campus of the local state university and many of our students will take classes at the university by the end of their senior year. Even though we are a small school (about 650 students in grades 9 - 12), we offer classes and extra curricular activities that rival many of the larger campuses in our school district. Our students enjoy being at school and sometimes it feels like we are one big happy family.
