Expressing your basic wants and needs is a necessity. For my students, learning new vocabulary can be difficult as the way they perceive the world is different for each and every one of them. When learning new vocabulary, attaching a real-life object to the word is a research-based method to acquiring language. The alphabet tubs provide real-life objects for each letter of the alphabet allowing my students to learn letter sound correspondence, while increasing their language skills. The sensory items will allow my students to find requested items in a fun and engaging way. What's more fun than sticking your hand in a sensory bin?
