I am a Language Arts teacher at a high need school. My students are 7th-graders between the age of 12-14. About 80 percent of my students are African-American, 10 percent White, and 5 percent Hispanic. About 35 percent are special needs students and about 80 percent are on free or reduced lunch plans. Some of my students don't have much to look forward to when they leave our building. I want to create a safe comfortable environment for them.
