The materials and supplies I am requesting for my students will be used to support our Guided Reading Groups, as well as other classroom activities! The dry erase board will be used during reading groups, math groups, and social skills groups to display lesson materials and give students opportunities to write on a board that is accessible to them. The office supplies, such as highlighting tape and binders, will be used directly by students during reading lessons. Reading is such a difficult and complex skill to learn, especially for children with special needs. Anything that can make reading activities more hands-on and accessible will keep my students engaged and interested! One of the things we do as a class on a regular basis, that includes all students at all ability levels working together, is create class books! We use what we are reading about to generate ideas for simple fiction or non-fiction texts that we write and illustrate together. We could very much use the binding machine to put our books together! Your generous donation to this project will help build stronger readers and writers, LIFELONG benefits to my precious students! We are blessed to have many of the supplies that we need, but sometimes there is not funding available to get everything. We could greatly benefit from the materials and supplies provided through this project!
