After teaching at a comprehensive high school for 12 years, I decided to make the switch to an alternative school this year. Alternative, meaning my students were labeled "at risk" and in need of more motivation and help to make them a successful and confident student. I see about 80 students a day that vary in ethnicity and cultural backgrounds. Many of my students work part-Time to support themselves and their families. My students come to school to escape their crazy home life and forget about the troubles and problems. They come to my classroom with an open mind and an excitement that I will lead, teach, and show them the world around them through Science.
