All of my students have been stuck at home for the past year and a half. They have missed some critical learning in academics and social emotional learning. As students are learning in the classroom again it is time to get them hands-on! No more behind a screen! Students need to use manipulatives to understand concepts. Math is such an important part of second grade. My students are wanting to learn, they just need some support. Having whiteboards, games, and things they can use to solve with with help them immensely. We want to have fun! My students LOVE interacting with each other. They enjoy playing games, talking, and learning together. These students have had a hard first couple years of school. They need to learn how to be kids again and engage with other kids again. Social emotional learning is a large part of our learning this year. My students are learning how to care for one another and care for one another. Working together, talking, playing, etc. helps them do this.
