My AVID students are getting geared up for tutorials. They are learning how to take focused notes and use Cornell notes. The classroom that we are currently in does not support an effective tutorial process. In order to have an effective tutoring session we need groups that are 6 to 1. This means we need 3 additional whiteboards to support the needs of our AVID students. In addition, students need SAT and ACT practice to get them ready to take the test that will allow them to achieve their dreams. Using the practice books will help them see that their long term goal is not that far away, if they just keep their eyes focused on the prize. Students are very active in an AVID classroom, so having clipboards will help them complete their task with ease.
