My Kindergarten students now have reading in sight! Throughout the first semester we worked on our sound/letter correspondence and blending. We're now ready to begin simple reading, of which the reading of sight words is an important step towards fluency. My children are mostly from low income families that reside in the surrounding apartments that comprise much of our school's zone within this urban school district. Our school's budget is very limited, and we're operating without a PTA or PTO to help with any fundraising.

About my class
