My students are bright and enthusiastic children, who attend an under-resourced, urban, public school. My middle school students live in a 99% high poverty neighborhood with very little resources. Students vary greatly in degree of abilities. Many students long for an escape from the chaos and anxiety that a low-income/high crime, urban neighborhood can bring.
