I teach a diverse group of 1st graders in a magnet program within a public school system. We are a traditional model that emphasizes parental involvement to build a learning community that strives for academic achievement. Our school draws students from a variety of neighborhoods scattered around our large urban city. Due to the large district that our school services, students come to our school with a broad spectrum of economic and diverse backgrounds. My students come to school excited to learn everyday but many of them lack access to technology at home. I am committed to leveling the playing field for all of my students.
