I entered the education field in 2006 as a Teach for America Corps Member/ Kindergarten teacher in Brooklyn, NYC. In addition to teaching K and 4th grade, I have consulted for Scholastic Inc. and Sesame Workshop, and taught a few graduate courses at Relay GSE. I am currently the Dean of Students for 3rd-5th grade at Beginning with Children Charter School 2. Students enjoy music, art, physical education and science multiple times each week in addition to their core reading, math, writing and social studies classes. Teacher and student retention at BwCCS2 are great and our NYS Test scores were very strong both years of our testing. This past year, we scored at the 86 percentile of all NYC charter schools in math and the 72 percentile of all NYC charters in ELA. I strive to provide a rich, holistic, child-centered education for all students regardless of race or economic status.
