The students that come in to my classroom have a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, economic status and abilities, more so now than ever in my 23 years of teaching. The ethnic backgrounds of our students are wide and varied, which can be something to build on, but this also creates problems for students new to the country or with low income or ability. An in-class computer helps the teacher and students gain access to academic support that is at their ability level and interest. A majority of the my students are from low income households that do not have a computer access. But this does not show in their energy and excitement for learning. The ability to jump on a computer when needed and carry out activities both fun and educational is something the children are excited about. An available computer helps the teacher and student gain access to academic support that is a their ability level and interest. A computer right in the room can benefit all in the classroom. My students need a Chromebook computer.
