I teach science, social studies, math, language arts, and character education to a diverse group of 4th graders at a performing arts charter academy. Our school is located in an area that is largely dependent on the auto companies. Many students in my class are seeing their parents laid off from their jobs because of that. It is more important than ever that we make school and learning exciting.
