Our school is an average public high school in a somewhat rural area of Washington state. Due to the socioeconomic situations of our students (high free and reduced lunch population) many of them lack access to technology. Our students have great school spirit and show amazing support for our clubs, activities, and sports teams. They also have incredible hearts, as each year they fill multiple school buses with food to be donated. I also find that our students are inspired by technology. They really get into anything that involves technology, from online research in English classes , to creating presentations and videos in Social Studies classes, to creating graphs and charts from data in Science classes. If you incorporate using a computer into the assignment, student interest goes way up.
