My kids are awesome. I usually have about 35 kids in a section. They are children of all races and all socio-economic backgrounds. Some of my kids have learning disabilities and some speak English as their second language, but when we work in class, we are ALL learners and we ALL contribute to the class. My school is located in Pittsburgh, PA. We are a large public urban high school grades 9-12 with about 1400 kids. I just started teaching this subject and I am looking to enhance my lessons and classroom. Some of the kids that I teach don't know what they want to do in college or life, and I want them to be able to open up the world of science or medicine to them. Because I teach a variety of kids, an hands-on learning is an approach I like to have the ability to do. The dissecting pans and materials will allow me to group kids and have enough materials for some to work independently.
