Hello! I want to change the Curriculum page/by/page teaching at my school to a project/based learning experience for students. This will allow them to learn what they need when they need it, and then use what they learn in meaningful ways. We will focus on Science Common Core Standards, and will integrate English Language Arts and Math into projects that interest the students, using Habits of the Mind qualities that will allow these students in a "low performing school district" to learn how to collaborate, build and maintain a team and to go as far as they can go academically. I will use the Mohs Hardness test, Rock and Mineral Testing Lab with the other supplies to measure and compare materials as part of the CA Gold Rush and Earth Science standards to compare the value of gold, then and now, check to see if a substance is gold, or what mineral it might be using Venn diagrams, charts, etc. So exciting!!!
