I teach Kindergarten and for a lot of my students, this is their first school experience. Most of them don't have the opportunity or privilege to attend pre school because of financial barriers. I work at a Title I school. A majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Although the students I teach are from a low income area, they have a high interest in school. The parents and families are very supportive in any way they can be. The students come to school excited and eager to learn new things!
