Due to Covid19 safety protocols and procedures we are currently teaching in a hybrid situation with social distancing and online courses after school hours. Students will benefit from the ease of technology with a surface pro in my hands as I am able to provide instant feedback, implement new strategies, assist in classroom management and improve student writing skills I give feedback on essays and help students improve their writing one on one time in class and by handing back papers with notes in the margin. I cannot do this and maintain safety protocols. This surface pro with pen will enable me to successfully give direct feedback by actually writing on the essay with the pen and the feedback with be instant. I can connect to my desktop and projector which gives me flexibility to still roam the room and monitor learning with my device in my hand. I can use the device to mirror students work on the big screen to the rest of the class. This is great easy way for showing group work and presenting student work to the rest of the class. This device will allow students to send questions and comments. I can choose to address the question or comment then or wait and send a message to the student after class. I can use the device as a polling tool to see how well students are absorbing content throughout the lesson and what they need to go over again. Posting the results as a whole, not individually also lets the students know how well they are doing compared to the rest of the class and will hopefully keep their attention. Using this device will aid in classroom management: students progress, attendance, assign random groups, track behavior, and grades.
