The majority of my students are newcomers to the United States. Most were not born in the US and have lived in the US only a few years. Some of my greatest challenges are helping them to learn the language in an academic setting. They are very motivated, are preparing to graduate, go into college and the work force. When asked to describe how they felt about school, the word "excitement" by far was the most common. They're extremely polite and respectful and are grateful for the opportunity to learn!
