My students are primarily African American 9th and 10th graders in a South Carolina Title 1 magnet school. Approximately 50 % or more of my students are overweight/obese. Health issues such as obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure are real concerns that affect this population. I hope to help students recognize the need to develop healthy habits for themselves and for their families as a major way to prevent major health issues..
