"Knowledge equals power and once that power is gained, it can never be taken away from you." These words greet students as they enter my 8th grade English classroom-their classroom. Getting students excited and engaged in their education is important and ensuring that each student can achieve to his or her greatest ability is what teaching means to me. Each day is a new day, and I want my kiddos to wonder "what are we doing today?" Many times, they do not want to leave and that says a lot for middle schoolers and for an English classroom. Making sure we have the supplies on hand for whatever we are learning or creating means no one single child is left behind or one opportunity for student success is lost!
