When my Donors Choose project is funded, my students will have the opportunity to choose seating that is right for their individual needs. The days of sitting in a chair at a table to complete school work are gone! "The most powerful tool for fostering the growth and development of neural connections in your child’s brain is physical movement. " -DEBORAH MCNELIS, early brain development specialist. Students are now using iPads, collaborating, reading with buddies, taking brain breaks, researching...all in Kindergarten! When students choose to stand at a tall table or sit on a yoga ball, it will allow them to concentrate on the project at hand..not wiggle and squirm to get comfortable. All students in my classroom will have access to the various seating choices in our classroom. Their seating choice will be fluid, allowing them to choose one spot for one activity and a different spot for another.
