My students come from a very low income area, as a school we have over 50% of our students receiving free or reduced lunches. Many of them struggle to afford clothes for their uniform, and the majority of them don't have computers. When it comes to academics, my students are very diverse. I have a few students performing above grade level in the 70th percentile, while other students are in the 10th percentile. It is very difficult to reach all of my students daily because their needs are so different. The majority of my students are below grade level and therefore learn much better in small group settings. Because of growing class sizes and personnel cuts, small group instruction is difficult to provide daily.
