On a normal day, so to speak, I have 11 students in my high school special-education at the school for the blind. All have varying uniqueness including mental retardation, on the autism spectrum, and blind or visually impaired. After my family, my purpose is dedication to the students. Think on it; autistic AND blind! Over the years, I have provided classroom supplies, but I am employed as a teacher in a state that pays the lowest of my profession in the nation. I can only do so much. It's a shame that the amount of tools available with pads and touch screen technology is not being accessed by those that would benefit the most.
