My Integrated Algebra students are mostly freshman and a hard working group who have shown maturity in handling the adjustment to high school. My students are all minorities with over 85% of them qualifying for free or reduced lunch and yet all of them are focused on the goal of attending college. For most of them they will be the first from their family to go to college. As we approach the end of the their freshman year they are just beginning to realize that while college is the end goal, strong grades in high school are a must. One of the most important benchmarks during this year is the New York State Integrated Algebra regents that they will take in June.
