My 5th grade students LOVE to work on the computer. When they have the opportunity to learn with technology, they truly enjoy the learning that might otherwise seem mundane. The unfortunate problem is that the technology that I have in my classroom runs very slowly (when it runs at all). The district has paid for excellent learning programs for students, but a great deal of the time that students are using the computers, they are waiting for the computer to respond. They will be so excited to have technology that works and can help them acquire the skills they need! I can't wait to see the projects that they are able to create with the use of the Chromebooks and how their eyes will light up when they are working.
