My students are looking forward to using these Chromebooks to explore the authors they have come to love. They will spend the year reading as many books as they can by the author of their choice. At the end of this project my students will create their own books in the style of their favorite author. Chromebooks will enable my students to explore the world of print at their own pace. They can save their work and come back to it day after day. They can explore the works of their favorite authors; even finding out of print material online at different libraries. More importantly these Chromebooks will put technology at my student's fingertips and show them that electronic devices can be used for more than gaming and texting. If they are wondering about something they can pause their reading and search the internet to get an answer immediately. No more waiting until I find the answer for them or they remember to look during their weekly computer time!
