As a school counselor, I would like to provide a "new student" packet for all of our students that includes information on how to make friends, a school pencil, info on breathing exercises to reduce anxiety, a school pencil, info on the SAFE UT app, and a small fidget toy. The fidget toy is especially useful during stressful situations to help students remain calm and focused. I selected fidgets that are quiet and small and unobstrusive that students can keep in their pocket to use as needed. I also like to keep a selection of fidgets in my office for students that are having a panic attack or other emergency situation.
