I teach in a Title I school in which the majority of the student population is economically disadvantaged. My school is located in a rural area and my students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Many of my students come from single parent families and their income level is far below average. They do not have opportunities to learn about people who have made an impact on different cultures.
