The small desktop printer we currently have is not equipped to handle the high-volume usage needed to support all of my students' publishing needs. This new printer is specifically-designed to handle heavy workloads. Furthermore, many students do not have printers at home to complete projects or to publish the writing pieces we've worked on in class. The multipurpose printer includes scanning and copying capabilities, which would give students the ability to enhance their writing with graphics, illustrations, color, and photos. Each ink cartridge provides for up to about 2,000 copies, so the extras I've included would ensure that we have enough ink to last well beyond this school year. The paper would allow the students to print their work without taking away from my limited teacher's supply. Finally, the extended warranty would cover necessary repairs for two years beyond the 1-year limited warranty. The printer and accompanying supplies would greatly enhance learning and teaching. My kids' creativity is severely crippled when we do not have the resources available for them to extend the writing process beyond handwritten final drafts. Students are more motivated to write and have more pride in their work when they know they can infuse more of their personality through the use of color, graphics, and photographs. Please help my students become "published" writers!
