I have a class of 23 wonderful first grade students. Each is very special in their own way. Their levels vary among each and everyone of them. Our first grade is at a small school in Oklahoma. This school cares very deeply about our children's education. In our classroom, we try to find several ways to reach each student. Whether it is trying different activities or lessons to reach each learner, we do our best! One way that I found helps my students with their reading is my listening center. I found that each student enjoys the books and finds reading a little more enjoyable. This enables them to love reading!! That is my goal in first grade. I want them to be able to listen to a story and enjoy it. There is nothing more enjoyable than seeing a student take off in their reading. And I honestly think my listening center is a great part of why my kids are starting to love to read!
