My class is AWESOME! I teach moderate to severe students that really enjoy vocational training, life skills and learning functional academics. They are eager work in regards to vocational training. They do enjoy when I am able to have everyone huddle around the computer screen so we can use the educational websites during the lesson. They seem grasp concepts better when they are able to see it in addition to me lecturing about it. We enjoy using youtube.com, abcya.com, news2you.com, starfall.com and other websites too. My school is unique. I say this because we are able to utilize the community as a classroom. We are able to be off in the community three times a week. One day will be a vocational skills day another day will be a Community Based Instruction day and the last day will be a P.E. day. This allows the students to learn how to carry themselves appropriate in a public setting, give them the opportunity to use money skills, learn how to navigate a convenience store.
