Given the current global pandemic, there has been a significant increase in the occurrence of mental health and social-emotional concerns in children. My students will benefit from these books that will teach them how to identify and regulate their emotions. The books I selected cover various topics, such as anger and anxiety management, grief, kindness and respect, and friendship skills. These materials will be used for class-wide social-emotional learning lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling. I have also included some sensory supplies that will help my students calm their bodies when they are upset.
