The students I teach are in an elementary school, grades Pre-K - 5 and are racially diverse with over 30% being Native American. Due to the geographic area and socio-economic conditions within this community, most students never see live performances or are able to own instruments of their own. Boomwhackers, while inexpensive, are simple to use and allow students to begin the music creation process as soon as they can distinguish colors.

About my class
