I spent three days scrounging tables from around my school to turn my room from a "traditional" one of desks in rows to a room of various sized tables that allows for many different seating arrangements. I hope that soon my seating options can be as flexible as my classroom arrangements. By giving my students options for seating in my class, I hope to empower them to take charge of their own learning environment. I plan on providing many other options for seating eventually, but these four stools would be a great start! Many of my students come from home lives that are less than ideal. By making my classroom as comfortable and welcoming as possible, I hope to encourage them to rise above their circumstances and reach their potential, or at the very least enjoy their time in my classroom.
