I have seventh grade students in a general education core class. They are amazing kids with varying personalities. They are at a time in their life when they are trying to figure out who they are and where they fit in. All day long they are in classes with their peers, going from one teacher to the next. Some of the students are loud and can be overwhelming for those students who just want to learn. The school is located in a middle class neighborhood, and most of the students are well behaved and there are few problems, but it is middle school. Learning can be a challenge for these students for various reasons. Most middle school students are going through changes physically and emotionally, which can put a strain on learning. Many of the students just need a place to think that is quiet and free from the influence of others. This is a very challenging time for these students.

About my class
